Red Ribbon Obsidian is glass butte obsidian with a bright red strand or band running through it. When cut right, this strand will run across the slab and can create some genuinely captivating designer grade cabochons. Red Ribbon obsidian is not Mahogany Obsidian, and we see a lot of confusion between the two online. Once you've worked with both, it becomes easy to spot the difference.
