Adequate iron is necessary for normal, healthy, vigorous growth. Iron deficiency anemia occurs commonly in the suckling pig, often within the first few days following birth. Contains 100 mg iron dextran per cc. Private label brands may vary For the prevention of anemia due to iron deficiency, administer an intramuscular injection of 200 milligrams of elemental iron (1 mL) at 1 to
