The carriage here is a horse drawn "omnibus." an early form of "public" transportation, originating as early as the 1830s here with Kenmore emblazoned across the side of it, perhaps referring to Kenmore Avenue in Chicago, with part of a letter on the reverse side of the watercolor addressed from Chicago to Albany, NY, (to a D. Hale and appearing to
