Early 19th Century Engraving Illustrating Three Types of Sea Polyps colonial treen salt shaker they certainly make a happyI was struck by the terrific delicacy of this original engraving from 1814, and with the rather surreal properties of these sea polyps! At top is the Clustered Animal Flower "stretching out its claws" and below are a Sea Carnation and a Proboscis Polipus. For me the manner of this engraving amplifies its subject to wonderfully evoke the mystery and wonder of the underwater world! 7 1 8" x 10 1 8". Very good antique condition.
